Excursion to waterfall shepot

Waterfall “Shepit” is located on the river Pilipets near the village of the same name in the Mezhygorsky district in Transcarpathia. The name is rather unusual, but this waterfall can be called differently, and each of the names will be equally true - it may be Whisper, and Shepot, Shepit, and Shopit, but everywhere with an accent on the first syllable. However, it is worth listening to the sounds of falling water, and it becomes immediately clear that the water here really rustles, as if talking in a whisper. The total height of the waterfall is 14 meters.

In the Borzhavsky Poloniny, a stream begins, so that the water can then subside through picturesque cascades. Thanks to the meltwater that occurs in the spring, the Shipot waterfall acquires even greater charm. The most beautiful waterfall is in the spring, when melt water flows into it, making it even fuller. In the summer, the waterfall is just a stream that runs down the cascades along several rock ledges.

Once a year, Whisper, thanks to the hippy festival, collects a lot of tourists. The festival itself was first held in 1993. There are also such events as "Miss Shepot" (beauty contest), Children's Day, and the celebration of Ivan Kupala. Ivanov day is celebrated at the same time, throughout Ukraine - July 7.

The village of Pilipets is known not only by the Shipot waterfall, but also by the ski resort with a chair lift. Its length is 1500 meters, so if you prefer to go to see the Shipot waterfall, then the cable car is the best landmark for this. The lift works even in the summer, but only on weekends, and taking advantage of it, you can climb to the Borzhava Polonina. From there open the unsurpassed landscapes of the Carpathians. Here you can also watch the flights of extreme paragliders. You can climb to the Polonina not only with the help of a lift - it is possible also on an all-wheel drive car, having stopped on a dirt road.
